Benison
Mwachande is a Human Resource Officer at the Institute of Public Opinion and
Research (IPOR). He holds a Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resource Management from
the University of Malawi and a Diploma in Financial Management from the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM).
Since
joining IPOR in 2016, Benison has had the opportunity to fully utilize and
further develop his skills across a broad range of functions, including human
resource management, records management, asset and inventory management, office
logistics, accounting support, recruitment, staff attendance and punctuality
monitoring, employee relations, and grievance and disciplinary processes. Benison
brings strong interpersonal, management, staff welfare, financial management,
front-office operations, logistics, and public relations skills to his work.
Prior
to joining IPOR, Benison held roles at the University of Malawi\'s Centre for
Social Research, the National Statistical Office, and a Unilever Key
Distributor, serving respectively as an Office Assistant, Data Entry Clerk, and
Assistant Finance Officer. In these roles, his responsibilities included
day-to-day office administration, mail delivery, directing research partners to
various offices and field sites, data entry and presentation, financial
projections, and ensuring offices were adequately resourced to operate
effectively. He has also participated in numerous field research activities
through the Centre for Social Research, Invest in Knowledge Initiative (IKI),
and IPOR.
He
is particularly passionate about fostering a positive and supportive working
environment. His strong interpersonal skills enable him to build effective
working relationships and create a workplace where staff feel comfortable,
valued, and motivated to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
