As
an integral part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), IPOR supported
PSA with MK 2 million towards their 3rd Biennial Conference which took
place from 3rd to 4th of May 2024 at Nkopola Lodge in
Mangochi district.
Speaking
during the cheque handover ceremony, IPOR’s Director of Strategy and Management,
Prof. Blessings Chinsinga, observed that the work of PSA is instrumental to
getting the country’s political system right, which is an essential
prerequisite for fundamental structural and sustainable transformation.
Prof.
Chinsinga said: “Effective political systems ensure stable governance, which is
essential for maintaining law and order, protecting citizens' rights, and
providing public services. A vibrant and inclusive Political Science Association
is an important tool in achieving this goal, and such proactive engagement is
instrumental to demonstrating the relevance of political science in building a
vibrant and progressive society.”
PSA
representative, Maureen Kapanga, commended IPOR for the support that it has always
rendered to different noble causes as an integral part of its CSR portfolio. In
her remarks, Kapanga said IPOR has distinguished itself as a leading advocate
for the development of political science in the country through its work, which
has helped shape effective and evidence-based public policies in various
sectors of the economy.
