The Institute of Public Opinion and Research (IPOR), in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame’s Pulte Institute for Global Development, conducted the Strengthening Teacher Education Practices (STEPs) in Malawi workshops.
The workshops, two in total, focused on the current state of primary teacher attrition, within the first five years after joining the teaching profession.
The workshops involved current and former (recent) Standard/Grade 1-4 Literacy (English and Chichewa) teachers, while the other one involved Ministry of Education officials, from Education Division Offices, District Education Offices and Zones.
The purpose of the workshops was to inform programming being implemented by Florida State University (FSU), on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
