Our teams for the Malawi Education Sector Improvement Project (MESIP) commenced data collection work on 30 September 2019 after a week-long training session. MESIP focuses on improving equity and quality of primary education, service delivery in early grade levels, improved accountability and functioning of schools. Our research teams will visit a total of 136 primary schools to observe teaching methods, interview students and administrators among other activities.

The MESIP project is the second collaborative venture between IPOR and the Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) after the successful completion of another project that involved the evaluation of macadamia implementation in Mzimba and Thyolo districts of Malawi. The study is expected to run for just under a month and is financed by the World Bank.

IPOR is very excited to be part of the process to help improve service delivery in primary schools across Malawi.
